MONTHLY MACS MEETINGS
We strive to stay connected and be sharpened in our songwriting skills by meeting monthly. Our meetings have given us the inspiration to improve our lyric writing and create better songs, which will have an greater impact on the world around us.
So, what should you expect at a monthly MACS Meeting?
Prayer
Announcements regarding upcoming local and national events, seminars, songwriting contests, etc.
Song Presentations (see below)
Written and Verbal Critique
Friendly Feedback
Networking with other songwriters
Support and Encouragement in a safe, creative environment.
Song Presentation
Details
If you are a MACS member and plan on presenting a song, please follow these
guidelines:
Bring 20 copies of a typed lyric sheet
Bring your instrument if you use one - guitar, kazoo, etc.
A piano and CD/cassette player will also be available.
Play your song live or via CD/cassette before the group.
10 minutes total time will be given to each song.
Only 1 song per songwriter or collaborators please.
If you are interested in learning more about songwriting or sharpening your songwriting skills, we invite you to join us at a meeting. Christ Lutheran Church is located North of downtown St. Paul, behind the Capitol.
Take Hwy 94 to the Kellogg/Marion St. exit. Go North on Marion St. At W. University Avenue, turn right (East). At Park St. (2nd stoplight), turn left (North). The church will be on your left. Park in the parking lot or on the street on Sherburne Ave (next left). Come inside the main door off of the parking lot and follow the signs for MACS Songwriters Meeting. The meeting is usually held downstairs. The downstairs is kind of a maze, so the real challenge will be actually finding the meeting. God Be With You!
